Designed for use with select Panasonic Mini DV Palmcorders, this rechargeable battery pack supplies up to 3 hours of continuous recording time (battery life will vary with camcorder model, usage, temperature, and humidity). Like other lithium ion batteries, the CGR-D16A is relatively lightweight and won't suffer from the capacity-reducing "memory" effect of NiCad (nickel cadmium) batteries. Rated at 1600 mAh. This is a battery for Panasonic digital camcorders. The battery is also a Panasonic brand. This battery charges quickly, and holds a charge well.Like most batteries, you will notice the battery dies quite quickly if you use the LCD screen. This is kind of a vicious circle: You bought the camcorder because of the nice LCD screen, but you are hesitant to use it because the battery dies so quickly. A happy medium may be to buy a camcorder with a color viewfinder. All in all, a good battery, and a good value.
